Square Enix has announced a number of promotions to existing Final Fantasy XI players who wish to play the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV.
Those with an active account for FFXI are eligible for a £3.99 discount to the monthly subscription to FFXIV, bringing the price down to £5 as long as both games are tied to the same account. Users must pay be credit card and must not be in a free trial period.

    * Development didn’t want to have a lot of combat classes at launch so they could easily balance the 7 basic classes already there.
    * Development wanted to implement all of the crafting classes for the games launch because of their impact on the economy.
    * The battle system and User Interface (such as mouse input issues) have received the most feedback during the beta test.
    * Not much end-game content is currently in the game. More will be added with version updates after the games release.
    * You will be unable to hide individual pieces of gear at launch. They may add the ability to hide helms/cloaks after release.
    * Most monster drops will be materials that can be used for crafting. So to get new pieces of gear will require you to kill monsters for materials, then have those materials turned into usable items.
    * The Auction House of FFXIV is almost the same as system from FFXI, it is said that
